Speculation is rife about an impending by-election in Glenrothes and Labour faces defeat, say pundits.

But nobody talks about John McDougall, its Labour MP who died of mesothelioma, the cancer you get from exposure to asbestos.

Well, they do here. In his relatively short time at Westminster, John became a friend. A lifelong trade unionist, a stalwart of the Labour Party, and council leader in Fife, he worked in the shipyards where he must have caught the disease.
