Anas Sarwar is 23 years old and is the fourth child of Mohammad Sarwar, Labour MP for Glasgow Central. He was educated at the posh fee-paying Hutchesons' Grammar school. He recently graduated from university and now works as a dentist. He is married to Furheen. Soon after the London bombings he set up the Scottish Muslim Network with friends in order to encourage young Muslims to become more politically involved. Although he is unlikely to be elected in 2007, Anas Sarwar is believed to be a prime future Labour candidate for the Glasgow Govan seat where the controversial QC Gordon Jackson is in trouble for continuing his legal career despite being the MSP for Govan since 1999.

Nicola Taylor-Rowan was born in Glasgow on 23 July, 1984 to parents, Fiona Taylor and Des Rowan. Both Nicola's parents come from a social work background and are Labour Party activists, with Des in particular once a familiar face on the broad left and in the old NUPE trade union. Nicola was educated at Merrylee Primary, Hillpark Secondary and Stirling University where she obtained her Honours in Politics and Philosophy. Currently, she is a student social worker at the Glasgow School of Social Work. Nicola has also worked as a home carer, a sheltered housing warden, in residential care homes and in retail. She has a particular interest and strong experience of working with older people in the community.
Nicola has been active in the Labour Party since she was able to walk and is now political education officer for Glasgow South CLP, secretary of Cathcart Scottish Parliamentary Forum and also treasurer of her local branch. She is also a member of the Co-operative Party, Fabian Society and Amicus. She and her partner Doug live in the southside of Glasgow with their 2 cats, Katie and Borat. Nicola is also registered as a student member of the Scottish Social Services Council. Her favourite television programmes are Neighbours, the Office, Friends, the West Wing and the Mighty Boosh. Her favourite films include Borat the movie and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Nicola enjoys most music, finding it hard to single out any one band or artist and her favourite book is Sunset Song. She has never contested an election before.

Bailie Alan Stewart has been the Cllr for the Carmunnock ward on Glasgow City Council since 1999. The ward covers a large and diverse area including part of Cathkin Braes, the village of Carmunnock, Netherton Braes, Linn Park, three parts of Castlemilk (Downcraig, Netherton/Holmbyre & Raithburn/Drakemire), Simshill and right down to the old Snuff Mill Bridge in Old Cathcart. He chairs the South East Area Committee and is the council's spokesperson on Information Communication Technology. The works as an Information Officer for a Social Work Department in a neighbouring local authority, and is a member of the Amicus trade union. He has sold shoes, played guitar, studied computing, worked in bars, been a computer trainer, worked supporting community projects, been an election agent. In his spare time he enjoys listening to and playing music, reading (mainly contemporary novels and biographies) and socialising.

Alan Stewart was Chair of Scottish Young Labour while at Stirling University where he studied Human Resource Management. Born and Bred in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire, Alan is a keen Bagpiper. He joined the Labour Party in January 2000 at the age of 18 when he started studying Psychology at the University of Paisley. In 2005 he contested Caithness, Sutherland & Easter Ross.
