'Mr Shoaib's decision to go it alone could split the Asian vote in the Pollokshields area of the city, where the immigration specialist has a large power base and could sweep up much of the Kashmiri vote. 	Muhammad Shoaib is a former Labour councillor and ally of Glasgow MP Mohammad Sarwar. In February 2007 he was cleared of fraud for the second time in just over a year, having been refused the right to stand as a Labour council candidate in Pollockshields.
