Pat Lally, aged 80, is known as 'Lazarus' because of his political come backs. He is an ex Labour leader of Glasgow City Council and was Lord Provost of Glasgow from 1996 until 1999. Pat Lally was expelled from the Labour party in 1998 while in office but made a successful court appeal and was reinstated. He finally resigned, after 50 years in the Labour Party, over the invasion of Iraq. At the 2003 Scottish parliamentary election he contested Glasgow Cathcart on a Local Health Concern/New Acute Victoria ticket, and contested the same seat at the 2005 by-election as an Independent, with the backing of the Scottish Senior Citizens' Party.

Bashir Maan was born in Pakistan in 1926 and moved to Glasgow in 1953. In 1970, he was elected the UK's first Pakistani politician to serve Glasgow's Kingston ward and he served on Glasgow City council until 2003. He is an ex-Chairman of the Glasgow Central Mosque Committee and is currently Scotland's representative on the Muslim Council of Great Britain. He was also the firt Muslim JP and is a former Strathclyde Police Board chairman. A member of the Scottish Constitutional Convention, he resigned from the Labour party over the war in Iraq and labour's Middle East policy.

Robert Kennedy was born in Johnstone, though his roots are in the Isle of Lewis. He was educated at Abbotsford Primary and Strathbungo Secondary School. He began his working life as a clerk with the Scottish Cooperative. He has served as a Merchant Seaman, worked in management with various companies and launched his own company. He has worked within the voluntary sector over many years, and has acted as election agent for Bashir Maan. He enjoys writing, fishing, golf and the quality time he can spend with his grandchildren.On being invited by Bashir Maan to join a new party in the forthcoming May 2007 elections representing senior citizens, Robert was pleased to offer his services.
