Eleanor Scott was born on the 23 rd July 1951 in Inverness and was educated at Bearsden Academy and Glasgow University where she graduated with an MB and a ChB. She worked as a GP in the north of Scotland and in various hospitals before becoming a Community Paediatrician in the Highland area. In 2003 she was elected as the third Highlands & Islands regional MSP. In the parliament she is Deputy Convener of the Environment & Rural Development Committee, Convener of the Cross-Party Group on Tartan Day, Co-Convener of the Cross-Party Group on Nuclear Disarmament, Deputy Convener of the Cross-Party Group on Rural Policy, and Deputy Convener of the Cross-Party Group on Sustainable Forestry & Forest Products. She has campaigned on a broad range of issues across the region - from the need for rural abattoirs to the use of Wick Airport for extraordinary rendition "torture" flights. She is the partner of SNP MSP Rob Gibson and is the mother of two students.

Donnie MacLeod is from Raasay. He farms organically at Ardersier where he aims to combine a Green lifestyle with deeply held views about social and environmental justice.He is currently working on projects to help schools develop horticultural training and procure organic food. He is a spokesman for the Soil Association and activist for a number of food based campaigns, including the Slow Food Movement. He is also a longstanding campaigner, especially against GM crop trials in the Black Isle, for which he was fined and briefly imprisoned, only to successfully overturn the verdict in the appeal court.

Judith is a learning support teacher in primary schools. She is a mother of two and a grandmother of one. She is a life long local peace, anti nuclear and environmental activist in Easter Ross where she shas brought up her family and lived for many years.
