| Alison is an Assistant Editor in Christian publishing in Edinburgh, producing books on apologetics and dogmatics together with a theological journal. She lives with her husband, Stephen in Musselburgh. They have three adult children. A graduate of Edinburgh University, Alison has been a social worker - in Gilmerton as an Intake Worker and then as an administrator at Lothian region headquarters. She has specialised in working with volunteers and voluntary organisations, including Edinburgh University Settlement, Stockbridge House and a Barnardos home for young people with multiple disabilities. With Stephen, Alison attends Calvary Christian Fellowship in Danderhall, where she has been active in church leadership and school prayer groups, with a particular focus on apologetics ministries. She says she is running for CPA in Edinburgh and the Lothians because it is time people had the opportunity to vote for policies that reflect a biblical worldview, instead of compromising with various hues of secularism. Alison has a deep concern that recent legislation threatens religious freedom as it might result in legal action being taken against faith groups who seek to practice their beliefs. She believes that the reintroduction of support for marriage and the family and respect for the sanctity of human life are vital to the preservation of a well-functioning society.
