| John Park is currently an Assistant Secretary at STUC, with responsibility for the organisations media strategy and political liaison. Prior to taking up this role with the STUC in 2004 he was Head of Employee Relations at Babcock Naval Services for a year developing strategies to enhance all levels of employee engagement and involvement. He took up an electrical fitter apprenticeship at Rosyth Dockyard on leaving school, subsequently became active in the local trade unions and was elected the youngest ever full time official in 'yard in 1998. In 2001Êhe took up a full time position with the Amalgamated Engineering Electrical Union in Research and Communications at their Head Office in London. When the Union merged with MSF I 2002 to form Amicus he was appointed a National Campaigns Officer working on wide range of diverse campaigns across the UK beofre leaving that role to join Babcock. His interests include Scottish trade unions, the economy, skills, equality, politics.

| Claire Brennan-Baker is aged 36. She was born in Dunfermline and was educated in Kelty and Edinburgh University wher she studied English Literature and Glasgow University whershe graduated with a Ph.D.. She has worked for the Trade Union movement and for the Labour party and is currently working for the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations. She is an ex chair of Dunfermline East constituency Labour party. Dr Brennan-Baker is the wife of North East Scotland Labour MSP Richard Baker and they have a sixteen month daughter named Catherine. | Dr Richard Simpson was born in Edinburgh in 1942 and educated at Perth Academy, Trinity College in Glenalmond and Edinburgh University where he gratuated in medicine. He worked as a General Practioner from 1970 until his election in 1999 and was also a psychiatrist from 1976, base in Bridge of Allan. He was appointed Deputy Minister for Justice by Jack McConnell but resigned in November 2002 after alledgedly calling striking firemen "fascists" and "bastards". He was defeated in Ochil by George Reid in 2003, losing by 296 votes.
