| George Wyllie was Born in Glasgow in 1921, and now lives and works in Gourock. He is a world-renowned sculptor, writer and broadcaster and was awarded an MBE for services to the Arts in 2005.He is a widower and has two daughters. During the 2nd World War he served in the Navy as a young Electrical Artificer. It was during this time, while on board HMS Argonaut, that he found himself walking through the derelict streets of Hiroshima two months after it was bombed. These memories were to shape his philosophy on life for ever. His sculptures are more than just pieces of art. Woven deep into their fabric is aÊÊ social message for all who would see. His political views flow in the same vein, his greatest desire is to "bring integrity and honesty back into politics." Recent electoral experience | ||

| Louise Wyllie, the driving force behind Pure Wyllie has built up a formidable reputation in the events industry over a 20-year period. With a background in the arts, marketing and events, she uses her creativity, flair and business acumen to help other business organisations and individuals to achieve their goals. She is well known for her creativity which must run in the family as her father is the eccentric George Wyllie MBE, the renowned sculptor and artist of Straw Locomotive fame. They have worked together on various projects, for example the Life Cycle in Manchester. Louise came on board to support her father, as together they promote the Manifesto and Aims of the SSCUP. | Joan McDowall was born in Canada, but was brought up in Canonbie in Dumfriesshire. She has two sons and 5.5grandchildren. She retired from her post as a supported housing officer in Carlisle in 1999. Since then she has trained as a counsellor and developed a passion for politics. Her particular expertise is training people to recognise and respond to elder abuse. She became involved with the SSCUP last year and is regional organiser for the West of Scotland. | Rachel Chisholm(Ray) is a retired primary school headteacher. She was born in Argyll but went to school in Bearsden, where she began her teaching career. She was promoted to the first of three primary headships in 1987, and retired as head of Easdale Primary School in 1998. She is interested in music, art, creative writing, family history and computing. She became involved with the SSCUP this year, and currently maintains and develops the SSCUP website. | John Hammond was born in Glasgow and attended John Street Senior Secondary School and Stow College of Engineering. He was employed for twenty five years as an Industrial Safety Consultant before joining the financial services industry specialising in life and pensions.
