On the 1 st October 2004, Frank McAveety was sacked as Minister for Tourism, Culture & Sport and replaced by Patricia Fergusson.
Margaret Curran was appointed Minister for Parliamentary Business in place of Patricia Fergusson.
Malcolm Chisholm was appointed Minister for Communities in place of Margaret Curran.
Andy Kerr was appointed Minister for Health & Community Care in place of Malcolm Chisholm.
Tom McCabe was promoted to Minister for Finance & Public Services in place of Andy Kerr.
Rhona Brankin promoted from the backbenches to Deputy Minister for Health & Community Care in place of Tom McCabe.
Mary Mulligan was sacked as Deputy Minister for Communities with Johann Lamont promoted from the backbenches to replace her.
Lewis MacDonald and Allan Wilson exchanged portfolios with the former being appointed as Deputy Minister for Environment & Rural Development and the latter being appointed as Deputy Minister for Enterprise, & Lifelong Learning.
