Tavish Scott MSP was elected as Scottish Lib Dem leader on the 26 th August 2008 and carried out a reshuffle of the Lib Dem spokespersons on the 31 st August 2008.
Jeremy Purves became Spokesperson on Economy & Finance, replacing Tavish Scott who had been Spokesperson on Finance & Sustainable Growth.
Margaret Smith moved from being Spokesperson on Justice to Spokesperson on Education, & Young People.
Leadership candidate, Mike Rumbles, the Spokesperson on Rural Affairs & the Environment replaced Robert Brown as Parliamentary Business Manager, becomming Party Business Manager and Chief Whip.
Ross Finnie, the other leadership contender, remained as Health spokesman.
Robert Brown, the Parliamentary Business Manager was appointed as Spokesperson on Justice.
Liam McArthur, the Deputy Spokesperson on Enterprise, Energy & Tourism was promoted to Spokesperson on Environment, Rural Development & Energy.
Alison McInnes, the Deputy Spokesperson on Transport, Infrastructure & Climate Change was promoted to Spokesperson on Local Government & Transport.
Ian Smith was appointed Spokesperson on Culture, Europe & External Relations.
Jeremy Purvis, the Spokesperson on Education, & Lifelong Learning, was appointed spokesman on Economy & Finance.
Jim Tolson, previously Deputy Spokesperson on Communities & Sport was appointed Deputy Spokesperson on Local Government & Transport.
Iain Smith replaced Tavish Scott as Convenor of the Economy, Energy & Tourism Committee.
Former leader Nicol Stephen was not appointed as a spokesman
